Coffee for Kids?
Our little boy also wants to try coffee because he sees us having coffee during breakfast while it’s Milo for him. He’s curious about the taste which is very normal for children. To satisfy his curiosity, I let him sip one or two. But when he asked for more, I told him that’s enough because is not good for kids like him, when he’s big enough then maybe he can drink his own coffee but for now, he has to settle for milk, chocolate with milk and fruit juices because these are all helpful to make him healthy and strong.
True enough, I found this in one article in a baby magazine based on a study on the effect of caffeine which is the main component of coffee among kids and adolescents.
Caffeine is a diuretic. It causes water loss from the body through urination. Drinks that have caffeine ingredients besides coffee are soda and iced tea, these are not advisable as refreshments during summer, since it causes dehydration or loss of fluid in the body. Caffeine also causes calcium loss that is very important for bone development. If they take more caffeinated drink than milk, they not only get less calcium but loss calcium due to increased caffeine intake. Caffeinated beverages replaced nutritious food like milk that might affect the child’s growth. Caffeine acts as appetite suppressant that may cause the child to eat less. While soda is also linked to increased weight and obesity due to high sugar (calorie) content.

Halloween Party
A few years ago Halloween was not really celebrated here, and children only knew of this celebration when seen on foreign TV programs or movies. But now it became part of the holiday season with malls and companies organizing special Halloween events and kids looking forward to attend to, like my kiddos here.
Worthy Gift
As parents, our only happiness is to see our kids succeed in every tasks they undertake, even little things like passing a quite difficult school tests or able to finished their school projects on time. It is the effort and dedication they showed to accomplished those things that matters, because we know that their future will depend on how they handle small things when they are young until they grow up to face more difficult tasks in their life. It’s not hard to give them giftsif we can afford it, coz we know they deserve it with the hard work they had showed.
