Inside my Wallet
What’s inside my wallet? Well actually besides the few bills, IDs, credit card and old peso bills (with no legal tender value) there is one unique thing that been hiding there for years. A red Chinese envelope or Ang Pao with one folded paper bill within. I got this idea when I watched the former Mel and Jay show where they presented some of the traditions in the Chinese New Year which I applied for the regular New Year we have. This one is keeping a paper bill inside a red envelope and put it inside your wallet or bag or anywhere where you always keep your money. This will serve as your lucky charm, believed to attract money vibes and you will never run out of money.
This start of the year, I changed the old bill as it will be phased out in two years time because of the new bank notes issued since last year. It said you have to fold the paper bill into a cone-shape packet with no opening at the bottom, more like to hold what ever you’ll put inside (the grace won’t spill-out, that’s my understanding.. lol) Anyways, it’s just a belief and there’s no harm in following such tradition which I do. And another advantage is if I accidentally run out of money it is always there within my reach for the taking.

Help for the Typhoon Sendong’s Victims
These clothes will going to have new owners, I’m sure they already reached them by now. These were sent to the victims of typhoon ‘Sendong‘ in Mindanao. Every year before the New Year comes in, I always clear up the cabinets of unused clothes and gave them away. The usual recipient is my laundry lady and her relatives or neighbors and/or the garbage collectors from dump trucks that picked up our garbage. The stuff were packed in clean plastic bags and gave to them which they divide with one another.
This year, we have additional items from my eldest son’s cabinet. I’ve been bugging him to remove those he is not using anymore a few months ago since I don’t want to meddle with his things as there are he can’t seem to part with and if I happened to gave it away and he looked for it, it’s gonna be war (well, not really), but definitely a misunderstanding will ensue.
Anyways, his office made a benefit program for the typhoon Sendong victims last week and they were asked if they can donate anything. Without any second thoughts he packed up some of his clothes while I added some of ours. And we’ve gathered 2 big plastic bags which he brought to their office.
Hopefully this little help can alleviate a bit the miseries that the victims are suffering now. They are included in our prayers to be safe and the soul of those who perished will find a lasting peace in the kingdom of God.
Online Christmas Shopping
Two weeks and Christmas will be here, shopping for gifts is not anymore a dilemma for me. All my godchildren are big now and if ever they visit during the holiday they were the one bringing gifts to us, lol. My Christmas list includes clothes and shoes for me and hubby. My children buy their own stuff now, so that’s a minus headache for me. They don’t like the style I chose for them, that’s why, haha. Anyway, I was browsing the net for some discount promos on the left-overs of the last Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales, who knows they might have lower the price once more. I could even get an acid cigars online for a very very low price and gifted my long lost grandpa from a long lost relative of this type of cigar. Oh before I forget I will be shopping for some goodies to be given away to the little carolers who never get tired of singing in front of our house every night, with the undying song “sa maybahay ang aming bati”.
