Teaching Kids New Activities
Teaching kids to learn new hobbies such as art, sports or playing different musical instruments can open up a new world for them. It can tap their innate talent that is latent for a while. Enhance those hidden gifts by encouraging them to join different school activities that in turn will build their character and personality. Dancing, playing musical instruments such as tinkering with guitar strings and belting out different songs are some of the interests they can pursue. This will definitely improve their self-confidence and learning skills to get along with others.
Precious Memories
It’s so thrilling specially for first time parents and grandparents to know that there will an upcoming addition to the family. They are so excited and making sure that everything will be perfect when the little bunch of joy arrived. From baby dresses, feeding bottles, to nursery room, all must be special. Pregnant mom while waiting for the stork to arrive spend her time embroidering the name of the baby to customize a baby bib or baby dresses, keep checking if everything’s okay until the baby comes. Ah, precious memories of motherhood.
Batibot – Highly Recommended Educational Show
Batibot - is the local version of Sesame Street. I’m so glad that it’s back from the long hiatus due to lack of fund and support from the government before, but now came back to life and on the air again. I remember when my children were still young and not yet in school, this show was their first learning tool besides Sesame Street. They learned to count objects, know their names and distinguished them from one another. They were so engrossed and had so much fun with the show that when they started pre-school, it became very easy for them to understand their lessons in class. Some of the unforgettable characters in this show starting from the puppets are: Pong Pagong (turtle), Kikong Matsing (monkey) and Manang Bola (the grandmother/fortune teller) and real-life persons like Ate (big sister) Shena and Kuya (big brother) Bodjie to name a few.
Now that I have a young schooler again in the house and sometimes when his young siblings visit, I let them watched this new TV show instead of the current craze cartoons like animes that exhibit so many violent scenes like fighting, weapons, destruction of properties and sometimes cursing among characters. As these scenes were not yet suitable for young children and might be embedded at the child’s consciousness. I don’t think this is the right age being in the formative year to watch these kind of shows yet, where proper guidance will be needed to let them understand what is real and what is not. Back to Batibot, it is a highly recommended educational show that will help so many little kids to learn new things even at home. Hopefully Sesame Street will also be available again at local channels.
