Yesterday morning our internet connection was so slow again, it happened I think twice this month. Since we can not accommodate customers, me and hubby decided to rearrange the shop, I bought another switch hub to put in one side of the shop where the five computers are placed, and one in another side, so only one network cable will be hanging on the ceiling linking to another switch hub that is connected to the router for networking, everything went smoothly until I mistakenly plug the modem’s adapter to a 110v switch instead of 220v, first I thought it was the modem that broke down, ‘coz the modem won’t turned on. I tried calling my internet service provider to report the problem, but it took so long to access their office, I’m feeling frustrated thinking it might take days before they can fix my connection and how much income we might lose for the days we have to close.
Hubby who’s been tinkering with the apparatus, tried another adapter (glad we have spares) then plugged it on, I was praying please, please let it be, then every button from power, status, dsl and link all lighted up. I was so relieved! Fortunately, it was only the adapter that got toasted, LOL.
Now there still problem with the system, we had experienced this before, when the cable connector was connected to the router it cannot access the internet, but when the computer is hooked up directly to the modem, it can connect. So while it is connected to the internet, I removed the cable from the computer and plugged it into the router and attached another cable from router to the computer, then all the other computers link to the router can all access the internet. Weird ha?
It happened before and after a few days it returned to normal, so I’m still monitoring it right now before reporting to my internet service provider.
